Chattanooga National Cemetery
This cemetery was established in 1863, after the Civil War Battles of Chattanooga, as a place to inter Union soldiers who fell in combat. During World War I and World War II German prisoners of war who died while in captivity were buried in this cemetery. There was a recent expansion and it is expected that the cemetery will be available for burials until 2045.
