Snow geese, at Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge, Missouri. Mike Frazier and I drove there yesterday. The Refuge estimates one million snow geese are there now. For this comp, it was easy to keep the moon in the field of view and wait for the geese to fly by.
For this photo, I put the moon in the comp, full zoom, and waited for the birds to complete the composition.

Dear Photo Friend: I feel that something has changed at Better Photo but cannot tell you just what has happened. I have been here since 2003 and most every month I have written to all the winners telling them how their work touches me. I have witnessed photographs that bring tears to my eyes and colors that are unbelievable, now I am worried that like all good things that it will not be here the next time I look.Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
