Times Past [Travel & Place]

This is one of the slave quarters at the Creole plantation called "Laura".
Located in Vacherie LA, on the banks of the Mississippi River,
it was once a working sugar cane plantation.
Descendents of the original slaves
lived in these cabins until 1977.
It is here where the west-African folk stories of "Compair Lapin"
were first told and recorded...these stories are better known today as
"The Tales of Br'er Rabbit"
Selective coloring, Midnight sepia filter,
a little Simplifier 1, and some cropping done is PSE 3.0
