Shelley, this is awesome...tend to miss some being away so much! Congratulations to you, I'm just so thrilled!!!! #38711Shelley Sanders May 26, 2019
Thanks again Carol! Isn't he cute? Almost like a stuffed animal! LOL I have been four feet from a gator, but wouldn't try getting close to this fellow, no matter how cute he is. Anyway, I think this is his "I am bored with you now little photographer, go away" look. #38777Shelley Sanders May 26, 2019
Ooops, I am way behind, thanks to Carol E. and Dolores and Kathleen too! I didn't realize these, I am sorry. I need to catch up with the finalist page! LOL You guys are way ahead of me. #38807Mark Oxley May 26, 2019

How very nice of you Mark. I was lucky on this day. Animals, especially at our zoo are a huge challenge. Glass, fences everywhere, never a good spot.: )Mark Oxley May 26, 2019
Most of the zoos here in the UK have either glass, bars or fences to get in the way. I think that's half the fun of taking photos of animals at the zoo, tring to get a shot that could have been taken in the wild. I spend ages just looking for that perfect background. As a child I hated seeing animals locked behind bars and always wished I could set them free. Zoos have come on a long way since then I'm glad to say and the animals welfare is paramount. There is also the case that most zoos now play a big part in making people aware of the plight they face in the wild and breed many endangered spieces for return to their natural habitat. #39853
