About Charlotte LaBarbera
I started out by being the family photographer. The first time I took a photograph that I recognized as art, I was hooked. I did 5 semesters in photography at a local college where the emphasis was Photography as Art and this led to getting a darkroom and processing and printing all my own film. [black & white] I made the switch to digital and now spend most of my time in the digital darkroom of Photoshop.
I started a small business, printing images on watercolor cards. I do my own printing for exhibits, etc. on watercolor paper primarily. Family holidays, birthdays and such, I have processed at a local lab.
I was a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals)and have learned much from them. Lewis Kemper's Photoshop classes for photographers gave me the tools to fine tune images and turn good ones into better ones.
I live in Southwest Louisiana on the Gulf Coast and I have enjoyed and benefited from being a BetterPhoto member.
