Great shot. Was this an amateur race? No muzzles? For those that don't know, a greyhound can get up to 45 mph and is the second fastest land mammal behind the cheetah. When retired, they are happy on a couch, and sleep...a LOT! I have adopted hounds, plus one racing pup.

Thanks for all the great feedback I received on this photo. Yes it is amateur racing. This dogs is realy wonderfull. When they dont race they seem small and thin but in the race the body just expand of pure adrenalin rush this dogs get. They just ran these dogs love it. As Tricia said they are the second fastest animal on the planet and that is why it is so difficult to get these dogs at the right spot to capture.

Jatie, Saturday I'm on my way to Jacksonville to pick up my third grey who just retired. She's been pre-adopted since birth, and is just over two years old. Obviously she had a short career, and just didn't make it. :) Again, congrats on capturing one of my favorite animals. There are a few grey portraits in my gallery/website, but no action shots. I still haven't gotten to the track with my new camera. Trish
