I'm sorry to add a negative note to this love fest, but this is your standard Seattle skyline picture with a ridiculously fake moon superimposed.

I agree with Dan C. The moon looks superimposed. Both are nice shots. But together it looks fake.

There's no way the moon could've looked like that in this scene/light condition. Anyone with some basic knowledge of exposure and lighting would know that this can only be achieved by copy and paste.I'm very dissapointed at the judges at Betterphoto for not picking up on this.

First of all, I stated that the moon was supersized for effect, sorry that some members didn't like this. I wasn't trying to pull a fast one on anyone. I copied the moon from the same raw file and adjusted the levels and enlarged it a bit to cover the overexposed moon. That's all. It was an amazing moon that night. I will post some "real" images later today. Thank you all for the kind comments.

It seemms to me if you state that you've altered a picture, than the judges and viewers can look at it with that knowledge and judge it accordingly. If the image is then found worthy, it probably deserves it! This one does, I think! :-D

  Frank,
I'm in no way trying to belittle your photographic skills. It's just that I've spent many nights trying to capture a stunning lunar image and only suceeded in a very few occasions due difficulty to come up with a correct exposure. So what I did was spending hours in front of my PC in an attempt to produce what I saw in PS CS.But then I realized that photography should be mainly about photography.Post editing(be it traditional or digital)is vital if not essential, but it's what I saw and felt at the moment of capture that determines whether the photo is a keeper or heading for the recycle bin.As photographers,we're trying to convey a message or express an emotion to the audience through our images, even if it's just one individual. When someone tells me he/she felt something deeper than the surface when viewing one of my images,it's more rewarding than any awards(be it hononary or monetary)bestowed. That said,I personally feel this image speaks volume without the moon.Pardon meif I sound obtrusive, just my honest opinion.

I can't imagine seeing a moon that big or capturing that big it at 200mm. THis image is amazing. I can't even get it that big at 300mm. I have always wondered how people could capture images of the moon so clear. It must be closer to the earth on other parts of the planet.
This is an awesome image and congratulations on a well deserved POTD.
