But he'd heard there was a lot of groping going on in the bullet train and when one of the gropers got off the train some people chased him up the platform and he fell over and died!!

Thanks so much for the kind words, Jeff and Kate :) Kate - no groping going on in the bullet trains. They are really spacious with more room than an aeroplane. The groping is more infamous on the insanely crowded local trains in Tokyo. I haven't heard about that terrible story but sounds more like something that would happen during peak hour(s) in Tokyo.
