What is the correct way to move PSE6 catalog? I've created a mess! I purchased a larger external hard drive (ehd) and I wanted to move my pictures from the smaller ehd to the larger one. I copied all the files from the smaller ehd to the larger ehd, thinking that when I plugged in, PSE6 would locate my pictures, of course I soon learned this was the wrong way. So I tried to relink, PSE6 told me there were no files to relink. I then tried moving files, but didn't totally understand the concept and in the process made an even bigger mess of my catalog showing some pictures on the smaller ehd and some on the larger ehd, but nothing all together. So I restored the catalog from my last incremental backup to put everything on the small ehd like it was before, again not knowing what I was doing I used the restore to the original location. My thought here was I could then do a full backup and use that to restore onto the larger ehd, but every since my incremental restore I can no loger do a full backup, am not sure if this has to do with my recent upgrade from PSE5 to PSE6 or not. At this point I feel the only thing I can do to get my pictures from one ehd to the other is create another catalog and start over on the new ehd...but I have over 3,000 pictures that have already been sorted and tagged, so I am not looking forward to resorting and retagging. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Also, any advice on the correct way to do such a transfer the next time?. Thanks in advance for any help.
