technical help with new monitor..

Not necessarily a problem, just need information hopefully from someone out there that has the same computer or knows about it to offer some insight. . . I just got a new computer with a monitor that has me all twisted up right now. .
HP w2408h Vivid Color widescreen float panel with BrightView... the questions I have are that im confused on how to accurately calibrate it considering the color/view settings it allows you to make... I also ask and am pulling hair out because all of a sudden my images are not viewing the same online so I know something happened somewhere...

in the monitor's menu section ( the manual buttons at the bottom of the monitor's frame) it has a set of options under "color" for color temperatures- 6500k, 9300k, sRGB.. and a couple others.. I have it on 6500k.... There is also another area where you can choose the brightness and clarity depending on how you'll be using the computer - gaming, movies, photos, text and custom. . .I have photos selected.. .
I have also calibrated the monitor via the spyder and thought I was ready to go ... . but this is where we left the paved road.... the images online look as if they're in AdobeRGB rather than sRGB... even though all workspaces and profiles are correctly set (as far as I can tell) I need to see if someone out there has the same monitor or has some information that would be helpful..
