A fast card reader for a Mac Help! I need a faster card reader for my new Mac Pro computer. My laptop has a slot reader that's very fast, but it takes me around 25 minutes or so to download a big card on the big computer. I tried a Lexar 800 firewire reader, and it refuses to work (and I've had terrible problems with the reader anyway...it creates pink lines in my images-ugh!) Does anybody have a good idea? Thanks!

Because of your experience with the slot reader on your laptop, external card reader's slow performance may b be irritating. Technically speaking, Firewire 800 is faster than USB 2.0 interface but as you said it seems to cause problems depending on what you have on your computer. In your case, the best bet is to get a good Mac (Apple) tech support (hard to find a good one) for ideas. Also, one of BP instructors seems to be a seasoned Mac user. It would be good if he reads this and offers you a better solution.
