Buzz.x filter

A question about Buzz.x filter. I have been trying to purchase the filter most of the day. After installing a trial version, which did not work I found the following info on the fo2pix website. The following statement is written on the last page of the web page.
Please note that buZZ.X does not currently work on any of the Intel based Apple Macs.
I own a new MacBook Pro…..is there any way around this problem????

Judith, Have you tried to contact fo2pix and ask them?

  Sherry,

I have written to fo2pix but have not gotten a response yet. After more research, there are many people out there that feel the same way I do so I am thinking I may just be out of luck. At this point, I would be happy with a filter that is close....

Thanks for responding,
Judi

It usually takes them a couple of days to get back to you. I don't know if they are working on one for the Mac or not, but since it's been around for so long and there's still no Mac version, my guess would be that they're not. Scream like a scalded cat and they might get the idea. It's a great filter. I had a lot of trouble loading mine after I got Vista, but finally it is working and I'm really happy about that.

Judith, I'm sorry you are still having trouble. I don't think you're alone in this. I have a friend who was also having trouble, but now has it working. If you'd like, I could contact him to see what he did to fix the problem. He as a PC, though, not a Mac, and don't know if that's where the problems stem from. But keep screaming, they were good to get back to me when I had a question. Maybe they're overloaded with people that have having problems like you are.

  Sherry,
As I understand this, it is the duel core Macs that are having the problem. I also can't get my scanner to work....all part of the same problem (involving the twain driver). Apparently Apple put the duel core on the market before Adobe and Epson were up to speed.

Fo2Pix is out of business I think. Their website is not working anymore, I have been trying to purchase the Buzz Pro Simplifier for the last couple of months...As of today you cannot even find their site online anymore...I have a few more free uses of the simplifier, and then need a code # to use it. I am pretty bummed out that I can't buy this filter as I like it alot and have been using alot. You cannot even download the demo anymore. BTW, they did have a version listed for each of them for Mac and PC's. If anyone has a copy of the Simplifier and wants to sell it, I would be most grateful ...Just email me and I can send you a check for shipping.

I just went back to all of my 'Buzz' bookmarks and all of them have shut down except this one. It says that it is a partner with Adobe.
Let me know what "you all" think. Below is the web link. Be sure to get all of it....it ends in 216

  Hi Judith,
I spent all day yesterday trying to find a link that worked to Fo2Pix and could not find anything...I just went to that link this morning and found that it links to their old site which does not work...I did find some links to download it at:
http://www.cnet.com.au/downloads/0,239030382,7779052s,00.htm, I downloaded it but found afterwards when I opened it in PS CS that it still says it is expired and needs the authorization code to work. When I went to the "Buy it" link it just goes right back to the "Page cannot be displayed" thing...Oh well maybe some enterprising ex employee will see the potential to make alot of money by coming up with a knock off...:-)

This is so disappointing. I can't believe that it just is not available! I had my hopes up for an Adobe rescue.

  Hi Judith,
You are not the only one, I have been reading at lots of different photo forums about folks that want to buy it and cannot get through to Fo2Pix...I have asked around and found a friend who has it and she is going to send me a copy and hope it will work...that seems to be the only option now...There are lots of folks here at Bp who use it, so maybe some kind hearted soul will be nice enough to make you a copy...at this point I think since they seem to be out of business, it should be ok to do it this way...From what I have been reading it seems that folks with Windows Vista can't get the Buzz to work on their computers, maybe that is what the problem is and Fo2Pix is figuring out a solution to it before selling it to anyone new?

Actually, that is my problem. The Buzz filter does not work on the new MacBookPros. In my first posting I wrote:

The following statement is written on the last page of the Fo2Pix web page.
Please note that buZZ.X does not currently work on any of the Intel based Apple Macs.

So even if I could get my hands on it, it would not work on my new computer! I found a filter called the Impressionist that was mentioned as being great on a filter blog. I haven't installed it yet. If it's wonderful, I will let you know.

It appears that they have gone out of business. See this link:

Thanks for that info Marianne! I have wasted 3 days searching around the internet trying to find any info, at least the info on your link saves me from bothering to call England. :-) I finally found someone with a copy of it...

I read the web site. Now I really know that I am not alone. If any miracles occur, please send a note this way. I'm going to give it a rest for a while.

I was able to download the trial version into PS elements - no problem. I am also desperately seeking a copy!

In Jim Zuckermans last newsletter, he states that the company simply went out of business w/o selling the software. I believe the only way to get it now is to have someone send you the file. You will need the code also to get past the trial versions.
Find someone you know & bootleg a copy of the file. That will work.

I started this thread quite a while ago. I wanted to buy a Buzz filter and discovered that the company that sold the filter was no longer in business. I finally gave up. Then about two weeks ago, a member of my Camera Club told me that the Buzz filter was back on the market again. Our conversation was brief and I was not able to get any more information. (I'm new to the club so I really don't know who he is or I would call him AND we don't met in the summer). Does anyone know how or where to find this filter??

Judi, have you had any luck finding buzz? I've been looking for it for the past hour or so and keep hitting dead ends. I have an intel Mac, too. Let me know if you've had success!

Thanks,

Teri

  Teri,
I have not found the buzz filter yet but I think I have a source. He is a member of my camera club but I don't know his name and our camera club does not met in the summer. I am a new member and really don't know any of the members. When I find it, I will buy it and then let every one on this know where to get it.

FYI, Brothersoft.com has a download for Buzz.Pro 2 (and Simplify also, I believe.) Since I have a PC, I didn't check for Buzz.X, but worth trying.

It will only give you 30 uses, but... that's 30 more than you have now (and if you can find a license key somewhere ...)

Also, if you google on: fo2pix.com Buzz crack - you'll find 'cracked' versions of it for download. If you want to chance it........
