Better Small Pictures
I am a jewelry designer and have been trying to take pictures of my work that are a quality that can be used for an advertisement or brochure. I am having trouble focusing on ring designs because of the short depth of field of my close-up lens. I can't set my light meter to show the highly polished gold and colored gemstones at the same time.

Hi Todd, Are you using a copy stand? If you don't have one and are planning on doing a lot of copy work it might be worth it for you to buy one. I use one with blue lights, a small aperture and 100 ASA Kodak film and always get good results. You also need to use a slow shutter speed. I'll find the exact settings I use if you like... just let me know if you want them. I have a set of close up rings that I use for that purpose. Sue
