Windows OS and Specs

I need info on using Photoshop CS5 or CS6 with Windows operating systems 7 or 8. I have used XP for years and now having to upgrade my OS. I wanted to know if photographers experienced any problems using CS5 or CS6 with Windows 8. I thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 because it similar to XP. Also is 4 GB of RAM sufficient or do I need 8 GB of RAM?

I went from XP to CS5 and then upgraded to CS6. There are some things I liked better in CS5 but over all CS6 works great. I would highly recommend Windows 7 over 8 for photography and as much Ram as you can afford. If you use CS6 and add more editing programs, the more Ram you have the faster it will work. I use OnOne 8 which needs 8 GB of Ram to work correctly. For the last year the operating system I use is 16GB Ram, 1TB HD, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and so far very pleased with it.
