Posing Ideas?

Hello, My name is Mandi and I work at Sears Portrait Studio here in Odessa, TX. I was looking for some new posing ideas for couples and individuals, but I can't seem to find any help. By any chance is there any way you can help? I am also an amateur photographer outside of work. I'm just tired of doing the same old poses day after day. I REALLY need some new ideas. Please Help!!!

Thanks for your time.

The best portrait tutorial I've seen on the web is on Zuga.net.

In the upper left, use the menu to go to free lessons on portraits.

Then look for the tutorial by Joe Zeltsman (last author listed). He has a 15 Chapter extensive tutorial on how to pose men, women and groupings. Some of it is quite sophisticated. You might be able to glean some ideas from what you see in the tutorial. The basics from Joe Zeltsman's portraiture tutorial saved my hind end doing the "formals" when I shot my cousin's wedding.

The Advice I give all my students is steal - it is the greatest commpliment you can give another photographer is to reproduce thier pose.
use Magizines and other Web sites, ect. see something you like go try to make it work for you.make sure you keep a copy so that as time goes by you can profect it and see its devlopment.
here is one of my web sites:Google:

AND I HAD SOME REAL SWEET COMMENTS ON THE MIRROR SHOT,I WANT TO THANK YOU SO MUCH AND SEND THIS IDEA AS WELL.
I USED TO DO THESE IN STUDIO WHEN I WAS TRAINING FOR COMPANIES-USED TO GET THE PHOTOGRAPHER ALL TURNED ON TO TRYING NEW THINGS.
AND YOU WILL LOVE IT(WISH I HAD COPIES OF THEM) WHEN YOU DO IT WITH-1) A LITTLE GIRL, WITH BEADS A HAT ECT. TRYING ON MAKEUP AND MOM IN THE MIRROR AS IF SHE'D BEEN CAUGHT - TO LATE FOR MOM'S DAY BUT FOR DAD'S-2) PUT A LITTLE GUY OR GIRL IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR IN A FOOTBAL(BACEBALL, BASKETBALLECT)JERSEY, HOLDING THE BALL AND POSE DAD, BEHIND THUNBS HOOKED IN POCKETS AS IF HE'S JUST CAUGHT HIS KID IN HIS STUFF-
THESE ARE SO FUN.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS.
DEBBY
