Neutral Density filters
I'd like to ask a question about using a "graduated half neutral density filter" for landscape shots. If I line up the seperation line with the horizon I understand the filter will decrease the amount of light coming from the sky and expose the sky by 1,2 or 3 stops less depending on the filter. But what happens if there is a subject that pokes above the horizon line such as a tree, person or rock formation. Wouldn't it make part of the subject look strange by underexposing where the neutral density seperation line falls? If so how would I correct it or what else can I do to get good exposure of both sky and foreground other than using a flash?
