Focus
I have a Minolta Dimage 7i digital camera. This past weekend, I was in the basement trying to take pictures of my son building some things. However, autofocus failed to to focus on him and, when attempting to manual focus, the image was still slightly blurry (had to focus at infinity). I was about 4 feet away from him, and there was enough lighting to register an exposure of f3.5 and shutter 1/10 or 1/15. The lens was at full wide angle. In order to get a clean focus, I had to move back a foot or so, zoom in slightly, and still use a manual focus. I'm at a loss as to what may have causes this and am looking for any potential suggestions or information out there... Thanks! Bryan

The blurred result may have been due to the shutter speed and camera movement rather than focusing problems. It's tough to get a sharp image at 1/15 without a tripod, or some other type of camera support.

I actually used a tripod after a couple of attempts, but it didn't help.
