corrupted files...can still see on camera
I can see the images on my camera...but when I try to download them it says all files are corrupted. Is there anyway to get these off of the camera? Thanks so much.

What method are you using to download your photos from the camera?

Are you using a certain program, or do you browse to the camera/card and copy the files from there?

Hi Kelly – there are many others here who understand this sort of thing much better than I do; however, since this once happened to me, I can tell you how I managed to resolve the issue. Despite all the hype about how Vista is supposed to better manage graphic/image files, I have found it very difficult and cumbersome. I had real problems trying to upload images using my card reader or even connecting the camera directly to my laptop. However, once I gave up on using the Vista tool for images and went back to using the Photoshop tools I was able to successfully upload the images. Also, you might want to check on Canon’s website and install the latest edition of the software for your particular camera and image editing package – this sometimes will help resolve these issues. I was lucky that my desktop computer still uses Windows XP where I have never had this problem. If you are unable to resolve the problem with Vista, perhaps you or someone you know has access to a computer with XP installed. Finally, if all else fails, check at a local camera shop or even a Walmart to find out if they are able to read your card and transfer your images to a CD from which you can edit or transfer the files to your computer. Good luck! Irene

Oh, man! Vista?! What can you do?... Install Linux or XP over it? That would be better than Vista. Still... First of all, were you ever successful in downloading images to Vista from the camera? If so, there may be a new issue with the camera or photos or the USB or something. If not... Make sure you have the newest Cannon camera drivers for Vista (if needed). Then connect the camera to the computer. Open up My Computer, double click the icon for your camera, and then browse to find your photos. Copy them and paste them into My Pictures. Picasa will read from My Pictures.
