How to take flash pics with my Pentax k1000
I have had troubletaking flash pictures, I'm using a Pentax k1000, and a Geminie 3000 flash. When developed the entire picture is dark except for the right hand side of the shot. I know it is the operator and not the equipment, but before I throw it in the lake I need some advise. Please see example:

When using a flash you need to use a shutter speed no faster than the camera's flash sync speed. I believe the K1000's sync speed is 1/60. If you set the shutter speed faster than that you'll get the effect you describe.

Thanks Jon. I also checked earlier with a local pro and he said the same thing. I'm getting pics developed in the AM using the slower shutter speed, got the fingers crossed they come out. "My Son's NHS Induction". Thanks again. Glad I found this site, it's going to come in useful!
