Photography Question

Lighting

I have been trying to do some portraits, and I like the pictures poses, but I can't seem to get rid of the yellowish cast on the photos. I have used with and with out flash, and I am filtering my light toward umbrellas. But the skin tones are always yellow.

  Becky,
If you're using "hot lights" it will cause a yellowish cast . . . even with brollies which cannot filter *in* the blue end of the spectrum that's missing. Color correction filters for the lights are prohibitively expensive due to their size (and requirement to withstand the heat) and greatly reduces light output. Filtering your lens with a color correction filter also greatly reduces the light and it's very hard to see through very well. Tungsten->color filters are a deep blue color. Try using tungsten film . . . Kodak Portra 100T or Fuji NPL 160 for color negative.
