compatable lenses

The lenses I have currently are AF mount auto focus lenses. The 35mm Minolta camera is about 5 years old. While looking at cameras recently I saw the Canon Rebel which says it used an AF mount for lenses. Would my current lenses not work with this camera?

No. Each camera maker has their own lens mount design. An AF mount for Minolta will not fit on a Canon AF camera.

In some cases, there are adapters that you can get, but it usually is not worth it.

Your Minolta AF lens should fit on Konica-Minolta Digital SLRs, and the soon-to-be-released Sony Alpha Digital SLRs. (Sony has taken over Konica-Minolta's camera operation.)
