Settings For Night Shots of Christmas Lights


 
 
I'm trying to take night shots of my home decorated with Christmas lights. I'd like as little blur as possible. I have a Canon D60... can you help?

Gregory LaGrange's Gallery 		  Tripod. Or park you car in front of your house, put the camera on the car roof or hood, use the timer and set for a long exposure. Did I mention try a tripod?

Jim Peak's Gallery 		  And use a slow ISO such as 100. As long as you are using a tripod, this will result in the clearest, colorful low-light photos.

Lauri Early 		  If you use your car as a tripod, don't leave it running. It will cause camera shake, which means blurry photos.......

David Robinson 		  Take a spot reading of one of the lightest of the light sources on the filament if possible and over expose one stop. If you use an ordinary light meter take a reading of the lightest part of the scene and under expose one stop. You will probably have to use a tripod.
