Dye Sublimination or Photo Ink Jet I'm hoping to purchase a photo printer in the $300 - $500 dollar range. Can I get professional quality prints in this price range? Do you recommend dye sublimination or photo ink jet? Which brands or specific printers are considered to be the best? Any information (or good links to information) around this topic would be very helpful. Thanks!

i had been working with injet printer for almost 7 years most printing photos,the dye printer till couple years ago were the betterones, but today inkjet printer do the same quality job,i had print jobs on different brands, and to me the best are the EPSON, rigth now i'm using a STYLUS PHOTO 825, I bougth 1 year ago, it make a wonderfull photo, you can see the difference to a LAB PHOTO, but remember that will depend on few factor;camera quality,shoot,paper.This printer is the same STYLUS 925 you can buy it for$100.00 you can print till 8x10 high resolution in about 5 minutes,but if you want to expend $400, and want something better so I recommend you the EPSON STYLUS 2200 you'll can buy it for almost $415 ,look at PriceGrabber.com, this is the best printer you'll can find now, it makie 13 X 19 ,13X 42,you can use with roll or sheet, have cutter, go and ck, and if you want a cheaper, is the CANON I900 $350 apx, have similar characteristics, but personally ,i prefer the 2200 EPSON,YOU'LL have a professional printer.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to get the Epson 2200. Cant wait to start making my own prints. Did you see the other discussion on here about printers?
