Hello Karen, Having been a Nikon (F2) film user years ago, I thought I would continue with Nikon when switching to digital but I went down to a camera store and handled several different DSLRs and to my surprise, I selected a Canon 20D instead of a Nikon. It fit my hand better, the layout & controls worked well with my braincell and I found it easy to use. I still love Nikon and they make incredible camera's, lenses & software and don't think I could really have made a "wrong" choice but now that I have invested lots of $$ in quality Canon lenses, I wont be making a switch. I started with a Canon 20D (2005), then upgraded to a 40D when it was released and also bought a used 1DS full frame around the same time. The 1DS (though a bit outdated in 2008) convinced me of going full frame and I replaced it with a Canon 5D Mark II. I absolutely love this camera and it may be a couple more years before I think of upgrading again. I also use the same lenses I bought when I started building my collection. The camera may get upgraded every now & then but the lenses will last me a long, long time.... I dont regret my decision Karen but check out many different models at a camera store and see what fits you best. I have 1200 photos to edit from a festival I just returned from so I should get to work :) Love in Light, Carlton

Hi Karen, One more thing to ask yourself before going to full frame is: Will full frame benefit your style of shooting ? I have 2 main modes of shooting styles that greatly warrant full frame and 1 is for Landscape photography and 2 is for Low light photography. Full frame produces incredible quality for any situation but I have lots of images I love that were taken with my 20D/40D cameras as well. I do love my 5D2 and rarely even use my 17-40mm f/4L anymore. The 24-70 & 70-200 are my main 2 lenses. 24mm is wide enough for most shooting situations. If you have the $$ to go to full frame you wont regret it but if $$ is tight, you may not need it. Hope this helps, Carlton
