Going digital after using35mm SLR camera
For the last 20 years I have been using my beloved Olympus OM 10 SLR 35mm camera with manual override, and now I have decided to get a digital camera. I've read up on digital cameras but have got very confused: I'd like one that gives similar flexibility to my OM10, that is not too heavy on batteries, that has through the lens focussing and that is quite lightweight. I'd like to do some close-ups but mainly it's for family, animal, landscape and holiday shots. If anyone could give me any advice I'd be really grateful, thank you

Jenny - there's a gazillion from which to choose. Go to your local camera stores (NOT department stores), and handle them a little. Just be sure to stick with an SLR type, so you will have the same flexibilities you are used to with your OM10. Olympus makes a nice pro level digital, but it's a little short on the mega pixels by today's standards. You should also check out the DSLR's offered by Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Minolta. Michael H.
