Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM ZOOM Lens

Hello. Recently purchased a Digital Rebel that same with the Canon 18-55mm lens. Thinking about buying a Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM ZOOM Lens to replace the kit lens. It's supposed to be a far superior lens to the kit lens but I do lose the 18-23 focal length. I also have 2 other lenses that cover focal lengths from 35-300. Interested in any comments/advice from others. Thanks in advance.

The 18-55 mm zoom lens that came with your digital rebel is equivalent to 28-80mm. This is because of the crop factor (1.6X), due to the comparable sensor vs. film size. So your 35-300mm will be 56-480mm. Do a google search 'Digital Rebel Crop Factor' and you will find better explanations. Hope this helps.
