Correct Lenses
I am interested in shooting potraits for weddings, family etc. What is a good lenses I could purchase for that? I have a Digital Rebel EOS

The 35mm f2 will act like a 52mm or so on a digital. A 50mm (f 1.8) will crop the image to look like an 80 or so. Both are highly regarded Canon prime lenses, and not terribly expensive. Other readers here will advise you on zooms they like. Avoid the very cheapest zooms. I think that either prime lens will give a sharper image than any zoom except for the ones that test out best.

3ynne, I am a wedding photographer....as well as a commercial photographer....If I am going to do a still life or just one set of portraits..then a prime lens is correct....clean glass less moving parts...everything Doug said is correct....BUT.....Weddings are about getting that shot....in 35 I use a 28-200 tamaron and with my new digital pentax I use a 24-200 and no body has ever somplained and I have enlarged the prints up to 16x20,,,,,in 35,,,,question please e-me back..
