Making Photographs More Interesting
Hi, I've seen so many photos on this Web site that are so eye-catching! How do you do it? I've realized that I have beautiful portraits of people, but what makes a photo stand out? Does Photoshop make it interesting, or is it just the way it's captured? How much, on average, is Photoshop? Thanks for any info.

Think background and lighting. Before you compose a portrait, still-life, or scenic, think about what shape, color, or design you can put behind your subject to make it stand out, and how your subject will be illuminated. Even the simplest objects can be made interesting and eye-catching with dramatic lighting and by including a contrasting background element.
