If you don't already have the owner's manual you can download it free from http://www.minoltausa.com/eprise/main/MinoltaUSA/MUSAContent/CPG/CPG_SupportCenter/CPGSupport_ManualA couple good sources for beginners learning how to control shutter speed and aperture are: Kodak's Taking Great Pictures - http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=38&pq-locale=en_US and Agfa's Classical Photo Course - http://www.agfanet.com/en/cafe/photocourse/classiccourse/cont_index.php3
