how the development of slides work I just want to know the process of developing a slide film. Does it automatically develop inside of your camera, or do you have to take it into a lab for development? Is the film ordinary size and can it fit into an ordinary SLR camera? Sorry if it sounds a bit stupid...

Virtually the same as print film (size, cartridge, can be used in any 35mm film camera), but the developing chemistry for slide film is different.
