Photography Question

Night Wedding

Hello,
I have a Canon Rebel T2 with a 420EX Canon Flash and I was asked to do a wedding at night. They will have a few lights around- my question is what film should I use? Do you have any suggestions that would help me for this event? Thank you in advance!

I would go with a high quality ISO 400 film. 800+ will be too grainy, 200 or 100 will be too slow. Usual suspects are the "professional" color print film lines in Kodak or Fujifilm. Kodak's Portra 400NC is natural color and lower contrast is often recommended for weddings/protraits. Similar is Fujifilm's Fujicolor Pro 400H. For more color saturation (but also higher contrast) Kodak has Portra 400VC or Ultra Color 400UC. The consumer films, Kodak High Definition 400 and Fujifilm True Definition 400 or XTRA 400 are also very good.

and Fujifilm (NP ). If you can't find these, their consumer 400 films are pretty good as well: Kodak High Definition 400, or Fujifilm Superia XTRA 400.

Thank you Jon! I generally use Kodak Portra so I will use the 400 NC or VC

Thank you,
Cindy

Use the 400NC. I don't think you would like the results of the VC for a wedding.
