  Evan,

Take a look at the Canon 70-300mm lenses. I have a series III that I bought a few years ago for about what you have to spend. It is my second most used lens, and I have always had great results with it.

I tried a Canon and a Tamron in that price range, the store let me try each one on my camera, so in their parking lot I took the same shots w/same settings using each lens, I then loaded them onto a PC and was surprised to see that the Tamrom was a better lens than the Canon lens, and the Tamron was a little cheaper. I bought it and do not regret it. I have images in my galley that were taken with it. If a store lets you do this, at least buy the one you choose from them, instead of on-line. 70-300 is a great lens to have.

ok the Tamron Zoom Telephoto AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS... My Canon Rebel K2 is an EOS... however my filter size is 58mm. and the Tamron lens it 62mm... how will I know if it will fit or not? Are EOS all one size?

The lens will fit the camera. If you are talking about filters for the front of the lens, such as a polarizer,
You will need one that is 62mm. It is OK to use a step up ring to use a larger filter on a small lens but you should never use a small filter on a larger lens. Ex: a 58mm filter can be used, with an adapter, on a lens that takes 52mm size filters. And you could use a 72mm filter on a lens that takes 62mm filters but you cannot use a 58mm filter on a lens that takes filters larger than that because the ring of the filter will show up in the image.

I hope this helps, Don't hesitate to email me.

I love my Tamron AF 75-300mm. I have used it now for about 8 months and am very happy with it.
