pentax k1000 lenses

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a zoom lens for my k1000.

I have a 35-80 but, I’m trying to take some pictures of a near extinct bird we have in our area (I believe there are only about 130 of them left) and they are quite skittish….
I’ve looked online at the Tokina 28-200/3.5-5.3 SZX Pentax P-KA as well as a couple of other lenses. Has anyone used this lens – if so, did you like it?
Any suggestions to a good, relatively lightweight zoom lens would be greatly appreciated.

The Tokina 28-200mm zoom is a spectacular choice with amazing versatility---Tamron has the same type of zoom but with an XR type the zoom measures 62mm instead of 72mm and has a smaller size---quite BETTER when photographing birds!
