Replacing fixer

Hi Guys,

I was doing some at home developing tonight and noticed that there was
a dark sediment settling to the bottom of my fixer.

Does anyone know what this is and if it means it's time to change it?

Also, how long should I re-use fixer and stop bath before refereshing
it?

Thanks,

Steve

coagulated silver stuff from the film, or just innocuous residue.
get some hypo check to test fixer strength. Never used stop bath, so I can't say how to go about checking that.

Thanks. I think it was silver stuff from the film. I'll get a bottle of hypo to check it out.

Out of curiosity, how did you develop with no stop bath?
