who and how are the judges voteing?? Hi all I was just wondering how the judging is done on the contest, Let me pick a topic we just had a freedom contest and the finalist are up, alot of the shots are what we call digital because it consits on more than one photo, what I'm trying to find out is how can these be chosen over other shots that where much better in the same cat., there should have been 2 cat. for for photos and one for digital enchanced photos I think what I'm trying to say is why someone who takes the time to take a great photo be elft out when somone sits at a computer and CREATES a good shot, thanks in advance Bill

Hi Bill... I really don't have that answer for you not sure all I know from reading other threads is that the judges our keep secert... also they just change the catagories this last month hun so that full digital make overs had a place... is a tough go as far as what makes it a total makeover many opinions on that... they do have their explanation on that in the rules for each cat... I believe that cropping is ok and some minor touch ups but then there are others that feel that is not... so not sure if there is a real answer to your question... sorry Jill :)

Greg - are you the BP police? Bill - they don't tell us who the judges are. There are many many photos entered every month, and many great shots are not chosen. Don't give up - keep trying!

Hey Bill, First off I am not the BP police although I did spend some years on the mattress police squad. As far as sitting at a computer and creating images, I would like to point out that when I was younger and film was our only choice I spent hours standing at my enlarger creating images through dodging and burning and peering through my eyepiece looking for the best shot in a negative. I guess what I am saying is the process is still the same just faster for the most part. Thanks for reading my ramblings. Ron

hi Amy... I think Greg was just funnying around with his comment and some of us (being me... gads doedoe gal..sigh...lol) didn't know that and took it a bit serious and Greg himself maybe asked to have it removed until some gals learn to have a sense of humor... lol hope that helps your inquiring mind... Jill :)
