Photography Question

Joan E. Herwig

How much to charge for single usage of photo?

I have a Pro BP website up now and after seeing it a friend of mine asked how much I would charge for a single use of some of my photos. A client of hers is interested in using some of my photos in some printed pieces. This is a new opportunity for me and I would appreciate some advice on how much to charge, and what type of agreement would need to be signed etc.
Thank you for your help,
Joan E Herwig

I am not very good with the computer but check out AMPA. They have a rate sheet. Things to find out are how many printed pieces are there going to be, will it be used on his website also? Get a contract that must be signed by you and the client. It wil show usage that is allowed and if you want a photo credit or not amongst other things.
Hopefully someone will give you a web site that has photo contracts.

I found a few Web sites that have sample contracts for photographers. Sorry I don't know how to make links in the comments section here, but guess you can cut and paste if you want to check them out.
