Ok, I've gotten the book How to take great photos and LOVE IT) but I really don't know the difference (still) between DIGITAL AND OPTICAL zoom. Perhaps I've forgotten? :) My photos are good on the camera then print out bad. And I can't seem to get a SHARP clear image. What could I be doing wrong? I have a Kodak DC4800 digcam for 2 years now and an Epson 870 photo printer using Red River paper.

  Hi Susan,

I see that this has been partially answered in another question

It is often difficult to get really sharp images and the possible causes are too numerous to mention. On the top of the list, though, you might be using too low of an ISO equivalent. If your DC4800 allows you to control this setting, try setting it higher. You can also experiment with using a tripod.

Lastly, you can often correct a slight amount of unsharpness by using the Unsharp Mask filter in Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

Hope that helps a bit,
