Where to put flash

Hello
I just bought a great tripod, flash bracket and flash for macro photography. If your not suppose to mount the flash onto the camera and you cant use the bracket while the camera is on the tripod ....where do you put the flash? Are you suppose to hold it?

Thanks

There are flash rings designed for macro which mount onto the outside of your lens.
See this link for info and pricing:

Personally, I just hold my flash when shooting close, and link it via p/c cord or infra-red remote.
It is a little cumbersome, but since I don't use flash that often, this works for me.
There is also the added advantage of being able to easily "bracket" each flash exposure by moving it closer, farther, or changing the angle.
