Here's the link to Canon's site with all the lens lineup:

Basically all the EF lens will fit on your camera except the EF-S lens that comes with the Digital Rebel kit. Hope this helps.

You can purchase not only Canon Original lenses but other companies like Sigma, Tamron and Tokina make less expensive lenses with Canon EF mounts. Sometimes you can get glass almost as good but for alot less money. There are some sites available that have ratings on quality of lenses if you are looking for higher grade glass but you do get what you pay for.

Canon also has both consumer and Pro 'L' series lenses which are higher priced but better quality lenses. You can also in some cities find a place that you can rent some lenses to try them or go to a local camera store and put the lens on your camera and take some pictures, go home and see if you like the results you get.

In some cases there are some lenses that even though they are not 'L' glass they give you great quality like the 50mm Canon F1.8 (or 1.4 but more $$) 'normal' lens. The 1.8 is around $60 USD but has fantastic quality or another very popular lens, probably the biggest single selling lens Canon has is the 28-135 IS (IS means it has Image Stabilization). It is extremely popular and has great quality. It sells for around $400 but can be had sometimes from places like B&H used or reconditioned for $300.

You can also look at some Canon groups (forums) on the net and read up on discussions on different lenses and ask any particular questions you may have if you find your search comes up with no answers but do search first as most possible questions have already been answered.
