D = Digital image capture instead of film
SL = Single Lens, where the same lens is used for the viewfinder and image capture.
R = Reflex, ie. a mirror is used to direct the image to the viewfinder.

Generally SLR and DSLR cameras will have interchangeable lenses. There are some models that have a permanently mounted zoom lens (like Olympus IS series film cameras or Minolta A1 digital) and these are sometimes called instead ZLR (Zoom Lens Reflex) or "SLR-type."
