Making my picture smaller
I'm a beginner and need help. I would like to submit a photo but it is 3 times bigger than the pixels suggested. How can I make it smaller when it is already saved (JPEG) in a file? Thanks in advance.

Open the file in your imaging software to re-size. What program are you using? With mine, I click on "Image", then on "Re-size". The current horizontal and vertical dimensions are listed on the screen. Change the long dimension to 750, and your program should default to adjust the short end to preserve the aspect ratio. Once you've re-sized, you can save it as a JPEG under a different name, or use the same name if you want the corrected version to replace the original, over-sized file. Since imaging software programs and terminologies differ, click on "Help" to guide you through the operating procedures of your particular system. Good luck! Bob

Hi Debby, I suppose you already have tried through the resize option. Ther's another possibility using an algorythm to get better results. Get easythumbnails (it's free at http://www.fookes.com/), and use the lanczos compression algorythm. The program is very easy to use, and really usefull. Hope this helps. CU Y
