Cameras and airport x-rays
Hi,I will be flying on a trip soon and want to take my Sony DCR TRV 33 camcorder and Canon G3 digital camera on the flight. Can you tell me if the x-ray process that airport security uses these days can hurt either of these two cameras or the tapes or flash cards? I'm concerned about that...if so will security check these items by hand instead of using the x-ray machine? Thank you. Terry

The x-ray machines will not harm video tapes or flash cards. The data is stored electromagnetically. Do not carry video/audio tapes or computer/digital camera memory cards in your pockets however, as the "wand" creates magnetic fields that will corrupt data stored on them.
