Needing help with autofocus
I am new to digital photography and I'm having a really hard time with my focus. I have a Minolta DiMage 5 Digital SLR. Whether I have the camera chose the shutter or I do the camera take a long time to focus in on the subect. I've tried alot of different situations, different lighting, shutter speeds, action shots, still shots, putting the subject at all different lengths away. I don't understand, is this on of the downfalls to digital?

It seems to be an attribute of the DiMAGE 5. See http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/minoltadimage5/page11.php where measured AF times are from 0.9 sec to 4 sec.

P.S. dpreview labels these lags as "Average-Fast" to "slow." That is in comparison to other similar digital cameras. If your comaprison is to film cameras, where total time from AF start to shutter release is much less than 1 second, these are interminably SLOW.
