Using flash in manual mode off camera I'm learning to use my Nikon SB-900 in manual mode. Everything is fine in setting up the flash and the camera but I have a question concerning off camera use. Using TTL is ok I understand that and the flash fires but when I'm in manual mode I can't get the flash to fire in commander mode in my Nikon 300s do I need the SB-4 to get the flash to work or am I doing something wrong with the setup.
