January Countdown Thread Welcome to the January Countdown Thread Happy Valentines’ Day. It's time to LOVE your own photo! Selected one or two of your last months entries and share them with all of the photography lovers here.
d. Click the “Select” button below the text input box, and select “1.” Toggle on “Notify” box if you wish to be notified. Click “Submit.” e. The Image Uploader appears. On the right-hand side, you’ll see an input box for the PhotoID (from step 1a). Type it in then click “submit your photo.” Then, return to the forum thread and you’ll see your photo. 2) IF YOU HAVE ALREADY entered the Contest for today, you can't use the Photo ID method *today*. Either wait until tomorrow to reply here first, or upload a copy of the image (from your PC) and attach to this thread. This produces a duplicate image in your Member Center; however, you don't have to make that duplicate visible in your Gallery. 3) If you're uploading a duplicate, I suggest titling it "For Forum" so it stands out in your Member Center, for easier housecleaning later on. This can also help nudge BP viewers to go find the original image in your gallery, if they want to leave a comment. Likewise, if you want to add a comment to a photo seen here, first try to tell if it is a duplicate upload. As a courtesy, try to find the original image in the member's gallery and leave your comment there instead of on the duplicate... which may one day be deleted.

Yes, it is getting late. It may be one of those months where there is a fast turn around for posting SF, Finalists, and Gold. We have had it take place all in a 24 hour period. In the meantime, there are continually being some real fabulous posts in the Feb contest!

I got 2 SF's. I for the monkey above and another for a 'banana salesman' [lol] the monkey's happy. It surprised me as I never thought that would go on, but the other 14, the ride ends here, and I really liked some of them. The've done well elsewhere and the banana salesman not so well! First time being seen for the urban monkey.

I'm often surprised by the images of mine that make it past EF. Frequently my winning photos are not the images I thought had the best chance of going all of the way. My two SF's for January were re-subs of previous EP's.

Congratulations to the Finalists! A little oddity this month -- while I only got 2 Staff Fav's (at least, only 2 emails notifying me of Staff Fav's) -- I got 3 Finalists, including the one I posted here as my personal fav...! I didn't check closely, when my 2 Staff Fav emails arrived -- perhaps the image in this thread also made Staff Fav at that time, and I misread the badge as Editor's Pick... So -- check your entries carefully! Good luck going to gold!

Chris, I actually clicked on your "fav" for the month...in this forum thread and it did have an SF badge on it. The SF badges do NOT display on the forum images; just EP, finalist and higher. Unclear why the SF emblems don't appear with the image.

So true Ken, but a word of caution... Don't delete any image until after the final round is complete. A few months back, I had a photo go from EP to Finalist without receiving a SF. It later went onto Gold. Good Luck To All on the next round!

Errick...true, and good point. But I've never deleted images that quick...and often I've resubmitted with luck. My recommendation would be for folks to toggle them "off" for display rather than delete them and maybe resubmit in the future. And if they like them, it doesn't really matter how the judges "judge" them.
