Definitely not a Canon made/approved accessory! Looks like a DIY solution of some sort, except for the printing on it. What is written on the top of the "thing"? I can only make out that it might say "USA" at the end.

The writting on the top say's Double M Industries Austin Texas USA.
There is a lever on the top of the box that when you move it, two bins come out the back.
On the front of the camera it says U.S. Navy Thanks Bud
