Some helpful hints for attaching photos into a BP Forum Thread, if you're unfamiliar with the process: 1) Sign into BP. IF YOU HAVEN'T entered the Contest for today, you can use the "Photo ID" method to pull an existing image (from your Member Center) into your Reply here. This avoids a duplicate image upload to your Member Center. Note the Photo ID# of the image you wish to include here (visible in your Member Center) then return to this thread, click Respond, enter the text of your reply, and choose "1" from the images-to-attach drop-down (even though you won't actually be uploading a file.) Click Submit; at the next screen, populate the "Photo ID" field shown over at the right. Skip the other text fields on that screen, check the boxes at the bottom, and Submit. 2) IF YOU HAVE ALREADY entered the Contest for today, you can't use the Photo ID method *today*. Either wait until tomorrow to reply here first, or upload a copy of the image (from your PC) and attach to this thread. This produces a duplicate image in your Member Center; however, you don't have to make that duplicate visible in your Gallery. If you're uploading a duplicate, I suggest titling it "For Forum" so it stands out in your Member Center, for easier housecleaning later on. This can also help nudge BP viewers to go find the original image in your gallery, if they want to leave a comment. Likewise, if you want to add a comment to a photo seen here, first try to tell if it is a duplicate upload. As a courtesy, try to find the original image in the member's gallery and leave your comment there instead of on the duplicate... which may one day be deleted.

Very, very tough to pick a fav from March, even with only 19 entries---I had some new, beloved favorites arise! Go figure -- 17 of my 19 were cathedral photos; so I sort of feel like I should pick a March Fav from the 2 that *weren't* cathedral imagery... ya know... just to be different? ;) And I'll then just have to break the old rule of a single choice, and pick my 2 non-cathedral images as tied March Favs...!

I'm not sure that I even entered anything in March, and only a couple during the previous months. As my situation improves I will keep this thread in mind.

Thank you, Ken, and I will keep that in mind. Now that BP has decided to eliminate their clubs, there are fewer opportunities for daily interaction here at BP so I have less reason to be here. This may help fill that void a little. One thing that will help me find time for photography is that the snow is finally going, so I won't be running my sled dogs (I have 18 Siberian Huskies), which will free up some time.

I hadn't heard that BP was eliminating clubs. I thot the clubs kinda ran themselves, unless there is behind-scenes software work to sustain. You must lead a far different life than most of us. :-). And your huskies will have some time off too.

I was in several BP clubs, and we were notified that they were going to stop supporting them in the next couple months, and they encouraged the owners to find a different site to host them. Something about BP clubs not being very active and them wanting to focus their resources elsewhere. I expect that you are right; I live on 40 acres in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and have a half mile of driveway that I have to keep open in the Winter. This year it doesn't want to end; we are supposed to get another 2 to 5 inches of snow by tomorrow.

It was pretty clear from the text of the message that the recipients of the email were members and administrators who had been recently active in their clubs. Were your clubs active, Monnie? The one I was in was very active - small but active. And a lot us received emails. But I don't think all members did. However, our club owner regularly purged the membership list of inactive members. As soon as he and we got the email, we started looking for a new home. Lack of interest and activity in clubs as a whole was cited as the reason for the decision and we had plenty of notice. You can still get to and participate in your clubs here at BP now, but once the "new BP" is up and running, they will no longer be supported. As I understand it, the on site links to them will disappear from our member centers, and if you have technical issues within the club, support will not take care of them the way they used to. The fact that you heard nothing from any of the 12 administrators of your clubs tells me a lot about overall interest and participation in clubs in general :) Occasionally, an old member of our club drops in here at BP and sends a message - I still get the email notification of that (which I had always opted to do).

Three of the 12 clubs I'm in are somewhat active, though probably not in terms of number of different members - it tends to be the same 2 or 3 people. It really doesn't matter much to me whether BP has clubs or not, but especially since I'm a host, I was a little surprised to hear nothing about the change except in the discussion here.

This is the email that I received from Jim Miotke on March 22, 2014: BP Clubs Removed from Site Redesign Hi Paul, I wanted to let you know that, due to a lack of activity, we have decided to no longer link to the BetterPhoto Clubs. I will leave the pages up on the server for some time, but you will want to bookmark the main club page in order to access it, if you decide to continue to use it. We are doing this to focus our developers on more popular features BetterPhoto site. Because you appear to have recently used the clubs area, we will keep those pages on the server for at least a few months, maybe more. But our developers will be focusing on other areas, and no longer updating the clubs or linking to them from the main BetterPhoto member center. I recommend copying this link in order to have continued access to the clubs area: You will want to sign in first, then copy and paste the above link. Save this link for future reference. Since we need to focus on more popular features of the site, I also recommend looking for another solution for your photography club. I wish you and your friends all the best with photography.
