Lotus in Afternoon Light

Taken at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, it is the first time I have had the opportunity to ever photograph a lotus - they are such special flowers blooming for such a short time. I was lucky to see this beauty open up and have such beautiful soft bright light bathe the flower that day.
