Description

4th and last in a 4 photo series of a male Gadwall duck swimming under a canopy of thick brush along the side of the pond so that he could sleep peacefully without worrying about the eagles. It was very dark under the overhang but the sunlight was reflecting off the water and lighting him up as if he were in a spotlight. In this photo the Gadwall has quietly and literally drifted off to sleep. An interesting observation, from a higher res version of the photo, is that he even has zebra stripes on his eyelids!
