  Skyline - by Jim Zuckerman

Brisbane is a very beautiful city, and it's photogenic from many points of view. A classic shot of it is with the Story Bridge in the foreground and the skyline stretching across your entire view. At twilight, especially, it's a fantastic shot.

Directions The vantage point from which I took the attached photo was from Bowen Terrace. You can take a taxi here or you can walk, as I did. Brisbane is such a beautiful city that it's a pleasure to walk. Bowen Terrace is elevated so you get a commanding view.
Season Any time
Time of day Sunrise is great, but I prefer twilight
Recommended SubjectsThe skyline and moving traffic on the bridge.
GearYou will need a wide-angle lens and a tripod for a twilight shot. You might find tight compositions with a telephoto, but the best photo is with a wide angle.
Other Nearby ResourcesThe nearby Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (http://www.koala.net/index.htm) has wonderful opportunities for photographing koalas up close as well as many other species of Australian wildlife. I took many excellent photos here.

Green Tip #103

Save The World?

People sometimes think of "saving the world" as a pipe-dream - an over-ambitious goal. At this time in our history, though, you can quite literally save the world. The scientific community agrees that global warming is a serious problem - one that threatens the existence of numerous species. This is an issue that demands action right now. There is hope, though. As long as many, many people change their ways, we can change the course of history. Driving in a way that produces less emissions, saving energy at home, planting trees, and supporting green companies, are just a few ways you can truly save the world.
